Yesterday, I taught Brittany how to draw a horse by using coloring pages. She’d been practicing drawing her own version of a horse for nearly an hour when she came to me and asked if I would show her how to do it right. To be honest, she was probably drawing better horses than I ever could, but as her mother, I was obligated to try and help her. I didn’t know what to do until I remembered a website I’d found recently. The site was full of coloring pages for kids to print and color. I quickly found one of a horse, printed it, and gave it to Brittany. I showed her how to practice drawing the lines by tracing, then gave her some fresh paper. She drew a pretty nice imitation of the coloring page, then colored it in. I put the horse picture on the fridge and printed her a few more horse pictures. She can now draw a pretty amazing looking horse for an eight year old.
