My husband is currently finishing up a book that he will have published. It’s quite exciting for us. I never realized what all was involved in the publishing process though, especially if he is going to be published in other languages. We have the initial translations done, but his publisher wants to get them double checked to make sure that everything is correct. We used a reliable translation source, but having them verified is always a good idea. We had heard about people using translation services to get them done. His publisher has a few that they prefer, so we will be going with one of them. When we made the inquiry into the translation services, I never realized what all they could do. When you tell people that you and your family spend a good quarter of the year abroad doing missionary work you tend to get some odd looks. But we are committed to our faith and the creed of helping others in adversity. If you avoid wasting money foolishly then you can live perfectly well while doing so too. We always take the kids with and when we aren’t abroad I stay at home and school them instead of sending them to the public school system. Why should we send our children to a system that is falling apart more and more every day? It just doesn’t make sense now does it? I’m not saying that home schooling is for everyone but it works for us and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
